*This post is a repost from my blog, written days after we got engaged :) I just added some more details :-)
We went to Iloilo last weekend because it was Jakob's gift for me last Christmas. Little did I know that he is going to propose on this trip. There were already some hints but I was totally clueless! There were times on when he would be so mushy and he has this certain look on his face that I mistakenly interpret as him being kinikilig :)) But then later on, he told me that he was so nervous all weekend! =)))
He wanted to pop the question Saturday night, when we were having dinner buffet in the hotel's restaurant. He looked so weird that night. He even sat beside me after dinner and I told him to go back to his seat because the aircon was making that spot very cold. He just said : "no, no, I'm fine." Later on, I learned that he just cannot find the right moment to get the ring discreetly and ask me the question. Besides, there was this woman on the other table who could see him propose =))
The next day, we went on a day trip to Guimaras. For the second time, he tried to propose. I asked him several times to have my bag as he was using it then. I was a bit annoyed already that he would not give me the bag as it was mine and he was just borrowing it. He would insist on getting my stuff when I would ask for it. And then of course later on, I learned that the ring was there the whole time! I am so dense haha. So anyways, we were in this bahay kubo in Guimaras -- veryyy quiet and calm. Again, he has this weird look on his face. I thought he was just being mushy again. He was actually thinking if he could do it there but he was so nervous and was thinking if it was the good place to pop the question. So we left Guimaras (me still clueless and him still wondering when he could have the courage to propose hahaha)

So when we were back in the city, he kept on telling me that maybe we should go to a nice restaurant for dinner. So we went to Breakthrough Restaurant, maybe 20 minute jeepney ride from our hotel. We were having random conversations over dinner, and he got something from his bag, put it on the table and asked me something like 'Will you spend the rest of your life with me?' or something like that because promise! You will not remember! It was all a blur! I was laughing so much and kinikilig and all that and then he asked me 'So is it a yes?' and all I said was 'Is this for real? Yes!' =))
From what I put on my Facebook status, we met on El Nido beach by chance and getting engaged on the beach is just really perfect.
Everything started to sink in when we were in the plane on the way back to Manila. I got a bit emotional ( ok fine, we cried ) because I am so thankful and amazed how God loves me and let me spend the rest of my days with this awesome man who loves me so much and I love him just the same.
